ARTICLES OF THE CONSTITUTION

ARTICLE-I: NAME

The Name of the Organization shall be known as “The Bangladesh Society of Ultrasonography”. In short it will be known as BSU.

ARTICLE-II : COMMENCEMENT, OFFICE & TERRITORY

The Time of Commencement of this Society shall be 31 March, 1989. The Registered Office of the Association shall be located in Dhaka. The Association shall comprise the Entire Territorial Area of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.

ARTICLE-III : MONOGRAM

ARTICLE- IV: EXECUTIVE BODY

The management of the Society shall be vested in an Executive Body composed of 21 (twenty-one) Elected Members as in ‘A’ and Ex-Officio Members as in ‘B’ as follows:

If any Ex-Officio Member is elected under the category ‘A’, his Ex-Officio Member position will remain vacant and will not be fulfilled by extra members.

ARTICLE-V : MEMBERSHIP

Membership shall be granted to any person with the qualification established in Article VI and who can satisfy the Executive Body that they have a bona fide interest in the use of medical ultrasonic apparatus; or in research of a clinical, scientific or technical nature which is directed towards the furtherance of the objects of the Society.

ARTICLE-VI : MEMBERSHIP QUALIFICATIONS

  1. General Member: A candidate for membership must fulfill the following criteria: (I) Medical Graduate like M.B.B.S or equivalent Registered or Registrable to Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council, (2) Individual, independent and full time practice in clinical Medical Ultrasonography for a period of at least two years or full time teacher in Medical Ultrasonography for a period of at least two years. Annual membership fee will be decided by the Executive Body. General members have all the obligations and privileges including the right to vote.
  • Associate Member: Shall be medical or non-medical personnel related to diagnostic medical ultrasound or members of commercial organization. Associate Membership fee will be decided by the Executive Body. Associate Members shall have the obligations and privileges of General Members except the right to vote.
  • Life Member: Any General Member completing two years as General Member may be enrolled as Life Member by the Executive Body. Life Membership fee will be decided by the Executive Body. Life Member is like that of General Member.
  • Fellow: May be bestowed upon by the Executive Body of the Society on a Life Member of the Bangladesh Society of Ultrasonography, who has contributed in a most distinguished way to the field of Medical Ultrasound and to the Bangladesh Society of Ultrasonography.
  • Honorary Fellow: May be bestowed upon by the Executive Body of the Society on a Foreign National, who has contributed in a most distinguished way to the field of Medical Ultrasound and to the Bangladesh Society of Ultrasonography.
  • The Members who are already enrolled as Members of the Society on or before June 23, 1995 shall remain as valid members subject to the other Articles Byelaws of the Constitution.

ARTICLE-VII: POLICY

The Society shall be non-profit, non-political. No part of any net earnings shall incur to the benefit of any individual Member.

ARTICLE-VIII: AMENDMENTS

Amendments to this Constitution may be made by two third of the Members voting, following proper notification as established by the Byelaws of this Constitution.

ARTICLE-IX: GENERAL BODY

The Society shall have a General Body. Every Member of the Society shall be the Member of the General Body. The General Body is the highest body of the Society. The General Body shall meet at least once each year.
