This is my great privilege to give this message as the President of BSU for the 5th consecutive term. The world is passing through a great pandemic COVID-19 for more than last two years and so we are. Millions of people have been affected and died throughout the globe. The doctor’s community finds it hard to tackle the situation but fighting bravely. Bangladesh is no exception. With our limited resources we tried our best to give services to the COVID-19 patients. The members of BSU also played a vital role in this crisis and at least ten members of our society sacrificed their lives while giving services to the covid patients. We will ever remember their supreme sacrifices!
In the last two years the activities of the society were much restricted. But to keep up the morale of our members and continue the scientific activities we organized several virtual programs where mostly COVID-19 were focused. Few of the resource persons also joined these programs from abroad. In the very beginning of the pandemic BSU issued a guideline of practicing ultrasound in covid era. We also organized our last two annual general meetings on virtual platform. Interestingly the number of participants were more than when we organized it face to face before covid!
Now we are seeing a light beyond the tunnel. Gradually the things are going back to normal after 2nd or 3rd dose of covid vaccination. We wish the world never goes to such a horrifying situation again!
Bangladesh Society of Ultrasonography is also making new plans to recover the losses and start a fresh again!
